Michael J. Elliott is a partner of Elliott & Associates and works extensively on the assessments of hotels, condominium associations, office and retail buildings and high-end single-family homes. He has practiced in the tax assessment field since 1989 and has represented thousands of property owners before local assessors, county Boards of Review, the Property Tax Appeal Board and in Court.
Michael is a frequent speaker and author on tax related issues. He has written articles and presented at seminars for the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Institute For Continuing Legal Education, the Asian American Hotel Owner’s Association, and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association.
Michael is actively involved in the legislative process. He has prepared financial models to illustrate the impact of proposed property tax legislation, and is often asked to testify before committees of the Illinois Senate and House of Representatives on behalf of major trade associations such as BOMA Chicago, The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and The Chicago Development Council.
Michael received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University, Chicago. He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the International Association Of Assessing Officials and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. He is also a licensed real estate broker.
